Maddock and Rae returned from a successful shark hunt to spend the night in one of the Morfilod camps. The following morning, an unexpected visitor arrives:

Bacon is mean when it's on the hoof. I hunted some the other day with a new friend. Her name is Rae and she reminds me of you. Same attitude, different animal. She wants to see Rebma. I'll bring her by the camp.

I've got a trip to Kitezh coming up. The ambassador is, well, I'm not sure what he's doing but that's not my concern. Getting him to and from the place is.

Another person I want you to meet is the ambassador's secretary. A Dafydd by the name of Mostyn. You remember that guy from the Ministry who spent a couple of seasons at the compound? Mostyn is like him only useful and friendly.

Things are getting better up here or maybe I'm just getting used to them. The fish say thanks for the shrimp.

I write this from the family compound but by the time you receive it I will be back in Amber. I stopped by the old camp on my way out but you weren't there. It'll be good to see you again even if it is on the surface.

Father is dead. You probably know that, already.

Carrin's countess now. She'll do fine.

You can stop the investigation into Oighrig. Father cleared that up decisively. On his deathbed. Typical.

Turns out we nearly had a different fifth countess. My newfound niece is legitimate. When you get here I'll introduce you. I think you'll like her. You have a lot in common.

Other than that, I got to see damn-near all my siblings and their kids and on and on. There's a reason we don't all get together much.

If this reaches you without being wrapped around a tube of wine, you have my permission to thrash the messenger (who will be one of my younger brothers) because he will be the one who stole it. Have a drink for Dad.

I've been in Amber about a month now. It's better and worse than I expected. The job is quieter than our last one but I think you'll like it. I find myself surrounded by clerks and bureaucrats but they're Rebman and that makes this whole thing easier.

Thanks for the help on the matter with Oighrig. I'm still waiting for a few markers to be called in so I can wrap it up. I suspect more than a few surprises await us on that front.

Enid seems to be doing well here. I haven't seen her much because we're both so busy but I'm going to try for dinner with her or something soon.

Also, there are these things called 'sandwiches' and 'snooker' I've got to introduce you to.

Maddock

I'm new to the MUSH and I'm looking for hooks and connections with other characters.

Maddock is the new Captain of the Guard for the Rebman embassy. He knew Martin pretty well back when they both lived in Rebma and he helped Dylan out a few times, too. Maddock is around 350 years old and he's spent nearly all that time in Rebma. Specifically along the Minos border.
